and our family's culinary history

Growing up in Jackson, MS, we were fortunate to be a small drive away from New Orleans. We'd hop in the car and make a day-trip out of it, just for the food's sake. Whether it was eating oysters on the half-shell at the oyster bar in Felix's, dunking a beignet in a cup of coffee at Cafe Du Monde or grabbing a couple of muffelettas from Central Grocery on the way home, it was a trip eagerly anticipated.
Needless to say, food has always been a passion for the Thames family. My grandfather, Jack Thames started the Tiger Drive-In on the side of the False River in New Roads, LA. Today you'll find his son, James Thames plating up those same family recipes . You can still go by there today and eat some of the best fried chicken you'll have ever let pass your lips - it's "Summa-Good!"
In Ridgeland, MS, you'll find Fat Tuesday's restaurant. John and Nita Thames opened the doors to Fat Tuesday's in 1991 and have proudly plated the best New Orleans' inspired cuisine the Jackson area has ever devoured! Our family recipes win over all ages and continue to stand the test of time. If you are in the area, stop by to try some of the best red beans & rice or gumbo you've ever eaten.
In regard to the Thames Family's Comeback Sauce, we feel as though we have infused our passion for Southern and Creole cuisine, and bottled them right here conveniently for you. Yes, there are some good recipes for this sauce out there, but you will not find a more unique version than the Thames Family's Comeback Sauce.
